Born and raised in Delaware County, Brendan Barker is proud to be a resident of his ancestral homeland: South Philly. Brendan is director of operations for Visual Communications, a custom exhibit firm based in Aston, PA. However, the trade show industry is only a recent development in his career, prior to which he served as director of choral activities for Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. Brendan holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Music from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he pursued a cognate in Historical Performance Practice. Before his work at UIUC, he served as director of music and organist at Holy Trinity (Robinson Township, PA) as well as adjunct professor at Duquesne University’s Mary Pappert School of Music where he conducted the Pappert Men’s Chorale. Brendan holds a Master of Sacred Music degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Science in Music Education degree from Duquesne University. In addition to choral music, his professional interests include early music transcription, keyboard restoration, and basso continuo.
